THE JOURNEY OF CODESENBERG INTO THE DIGITAL WORLD

The Student Years

Wanting to marry my love for art with technology, I entered a digital media program at Seneca with hopes of becoming a graphic designer. During one of my courses, I built a game in Flash and my new love for programming was found!
Freelancing with Flash

Joining a couple of colleagues from college, I got a freelance contract to help develop a Flash-based interactive website for Gourmantra, an Indian cuisine company. Using PHP and MySQL I also helped build their backend tool.
Breaking Inspiration

As soon as I watched the series premiere of Breaking Bad, I was hooked. Little did I know that it would end up being my favourite show of all time and later serve as an inspiration for my portfolio.
First Full Time Gig as a Dev

Landing my job at Maritz was a major milestone in my career as it was my first full-time gig as a software developer. At this company, I helped build Flash-based eLearning software for companies such as Blackberry and Ford.
From Flash to JS

My next step was into the advertising world where I worked on banners, eblasts, digital contests, games and microsites at Baby Robot. Up until this time, I specialized in Actionscript/Flash but with mobile on the rise and Flash becoming less of a demand, I transitioned into HTML, Javascript, and CSS…
Codesenberg is Born

Several months later after the Breaking Bad series finale and looking for a theme for my third online portfolio, Codesenberg is born.
Venturing into the Product World

Joining Sysomos, a social media analytics company, was my first experience in a product-focused company. Here I worked my way up to a senior dev role while working on Angular based components and using libraries such as d3 to build out data visualizations.
My Stay at Quickplay

Quickplay is a video streaming service company and during my time here, I helped architect our cms redesign as we upgraded from angular 1.3 to polymer 2.0 and was responsible for investigating and integrating new libraries into our tech stack that would help support our upgrade.
My First Experience as Team Lead

At Bibliocommons, a library software company, I grew into a Team Lead position where I was responsible for a team of six that touched several different tech stacks depending on the product or feature. My focuses were contributing to my team’s career growth and ensuring that we met Biblocommons’ deliverables.
Stepping Into The World of Management

As a Senior Dev Manager at TouchBistro, I currently work closely with the Technical and Product leadership team on strategy, roadmapping and resource allocation geared towards feature development and maintenance. I manage across different verticals which include user authentication, authorization, partner integrations, customer insights and POS feature development.
